🚀 Getting started
What does FieldRank do?
FieldRank is a specialist SEO platform for renewable energy installers. We help solar PV installers, EV charger installers, heat pump engineers and battery storage specialists rank higher on Google and win more local jobs — through local SEO, website optimisation, Google Business Profile setup and ongoing content strategy.
How do I get started?
Fill in the free audit request form on any page of our website. It takes about 2 minutes. We'll analyse your site and send you a full written report, recommendations and a transparent quote within 48 hours. No obligation to proceed.
What is the free audit?
The free audit is a full analysis of your website and local search presence — your current Google rankings, technical site health, local SEO gaps, Google Business Profile status and competitor landscape. You receive a written report with prioritised recommendations within 48 hours. No cost, no obligation, yours to keep regardless of what you decide to do next.
Can I just get the audit and do the work myself?
Yes — the audit report is yours to keep regardless of whether you proceed with us. If you want to implement it yourself, that's completely fine. We do the audit because we're confident in its quality — not to create obligation.
📈 Results & timelines
How quickly will I see results?
Preliminary improvements — particularly from Google Business Profile optimisation and technical fixes — typically show within 2 to 4 weeks of work starting. Significant ranking improvements for competitive local search terms typically follow within 3 to 6 months of the full action plan being implemented. Results vary depending on your market, competition level and your website's starting point.
Do you guarantee rankings?
No — and anyone who does is being dishonest. Google's algorithm changes frequently and is entirely outside our control. What we do guarantee is best-practice implementation, genuine content and authority building, diligent work on your behalf and transparent monthly reporting so you always know exactly what is happening.
How long does local SEO take?
SEO builds over time. The first 4 to 8 weeks typically sees technical improvements and early GBP ranking gains. Months 2 to 4 see location pages gaining traction and keyword rankings improving. Months 4 to 6 and beyond see compounding improvements as your site gains authority. The longer SEO runs, the stronger it gets.
What if I don't see results?
We report monthly with full transparency on ranking changes — up and down. If something isn't working, we tell you and adjust the strategy. We don't hide behind vague metrics or blame Google without explanation.
🏗️ About your business
Which trades do you work with?
We work exclusively with renewable energy installers: solar PV, EV charger, heat pump (air source and ground source), battery storage and combinations of these. We don't work with general trades or other industries.
Do you work with sole traders?
Yes. Many of our clients are sole traders or very small teams. The SEO fundamentals are the same regardless of size — and smaller installers often have more to gain because they rely heavily on local search and local reputation.
Do I need a new website?
Usually not. We work with your existing website in most cases. If your site has fundamental issues we'll tell you honestly in the audit — but a full rebuild is rarely necessary to start improving your rankings.
What areas do you cover?
We cover renewable energy installers across England with county and town-level SEO pages. Scotland and Wales — get in touch, we can still help.
☀️ The renewable energy market
How does Octopus Energy affect independent installers?
Octopus has entered the EV charger and broader energy services market with significant marketing budget and brand recognition. Independent installers are losing visibility to Octopus in search results — not because they do worse work, but because they're less visible online. Local SEO is one of the most effective ways for independent installers to compete, especially at the hyperlocal level where Octopus's broad marketing can't dominate.
What is the Boiler Upgrade Scheme?
The Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) is a UK government grant providing financial support for homeowners replacing gas boilers with heat pumps. It creates motivated, funded buyers who actively search for MCS-accredited installers. Ranking for BUS-related search terms is highly valuable and is a specific focus of our heat pump SEO strategy.
Does MCS accreditation help with SEO?
Yes — MCS is a genuine trust signal that homeowners know to look for. We make sure your MCS accreditation is prominent in your page content, schema markup and Google Business Profile. For heat pump and solar installers, MCS can be a meaningful differentiator in search results.
How competitive is the renewable energy SEO market?
It varies significantly by trade and location. Solar is competitive in many areas. EV charger SEO is competitive and growing fast. Heat pump SEO has genuine opportunity in most local markets. Battery storage is relatively early. We assess competition in your specific area as part of the free audit — it directly shapes the strategy we recommend.
